Only a bunch of pixels & unlikely to see tarmac I guess, but this is lovely.

Sorry , but that's just got a really frugly front. Rest of neat enough. Trying too hard to echo something classic and messed it up

Nice, there''s something missing with it though, but the concept is great (as with all concept cars they tend to iron out the more extreme elements of a design before production). The final thing would be interesting to see, if they ever did it.

Interesting reactions :) I really like the front end, but I can see how it might be a bit "marmite". I reckon the 2 series coupe is pretty close already, and I can't see anything tooo radical that would need calming down for production. You're right though, it'll never get made.

Agree that the 2 series coupe carries much of this DNA already. Just that front end that looks all puckered up...

At first glance I really liked it. But the more I looked the plainer it looked. :?

BMW don't seem to be very good at front ends these days. :o

My favorite BMW ever, looks wise, was indeed the 635csi. 8)

There some of that car in there, but the original is sharper and less bland looking. IMHO

that is so close to looking amazing, but they missed out with the gawping nothing space beneath the headlights imo. very alfa 159 esque rear too

I had a quick look and thought, actually as a modern take that's not bad. Then I looked again and thought, hmm, it's actually a little odd looking and something is missing (as others have said). It does have a whiff of Alfa about it.

I think it looks best, side on and in red as shown in the article.

Not liking the front end either, looks like a amphibious vehicle. That is trying to hard to look like the old version, especially the dashboard

I like it. Out of the ordinary. Not a big fan of the BM front end at present - it's all a bit too "angular flaps" if that makes any sense...

I dislike it. The original CSL was fab. I don't like it when manufacturers try to build a 'new' reincarnation of one of their earlier 'classic' models such as BMW Mini, Jaguar S-Type, VW Beetle, Fiat 500 etc. The designers should get their fingers out and come up with something original. Using a few styling cues from earlier cars is one thing but to just plagiarise the whole car to me is dull.
Just look at this !
No contest in my eyes.

At first glance I like the front, then the lower half of it is a let down. The rest of the car is pretty dull too, the roof line at the rear is just generic copy and paste from a modern car.
It fails as a retro restyle and it fails as a modern car.

-goes off to design his own....

Looking forward to seeing that... :hairdryer:

I couldn't get past it being a Dodge Challenger with a BMW grill and the boot flattened. Looks way too muscular for my liking.
