Just wondering, which version your G29 is? 20i or 30i or 40i? Based on what Scubaregs said, it seems the 07.2021 RSU for 30i has not yet rolled out. But dealer (as well as the factory) should already have the software to update based on what I read other place.

According to My BMW the upload to my car ( 20i ) is complete and it's version 07/2021.50 so I don't know what Sytner is going to install in a couple of week's time. Hopefully it might cure the problem with the comfort locking as whilst the car unlocks when I approach it doesn't lock again when I walk away

Kind of normal procedure nowadays. You report anything, their first step is to update the software. Sometime it's the same software, they just want to do a kind of factory reset then re-install all the software to rule out any possibility of any old status flags remembered by the system which may do some funny things.

On my new arrival I think I can subscribe to high beam assist and speed camera locations?

I wouldn’t bother with the first one as on the missus car it is too laggy for me- blinds other drivers

Will check price for the latter though…
I have it Stuart on the same car as yours. It works really well and responds quickly. I have had it previous cars where it was slow to react but not on the current one.

Thanks Ian I’ll certainly consider it!

@Scubaregs, if you are still interested in this.

App is fine. Click the people icon on the bottom right and then BMW Shop. It's also available there. I've purchased. At this price, no need to think at all.

Need to look into it a bit as local BMW dealer claims no knowledge of it.
This is now a black friday special. Dealers stopped doing this for many years. I've purchased and BMW UK has issued the invoice plus I can see it's one of my booked service. There is no reason that BMW won't be able to fulfil this. One potential requirement to this is you may need to book the service online via BMW instead of phone the dealer directly to book, just like the service discount BMW offered about 2 weeks ago. When you book online, it will actually show whether there is a valid service pack for a specific VIN.

It says participating BMW dealers, when I click on the locator it takes me to bloody Malta and won't let me change it!
I'm going to contact local dealer tomorrow to see if they will honour it.

Although I'm not worrying about my purchase, but I'm trying to find where it says participating BMW dealers and the link to the locator. I can see a dealer locator link and when I input my postcode there, my local dealer appears.

That depends on how long you keep your car. I'll probably keep mine for two years so probably not worth it for me

You're right. I don't think my car will go before the second service so for me, it's 1st service at about £350 at year 2, brake fluid change at about £100 at year 3, and 2nd service at about £650 at year 4. So, overall, £687 vs. £1100 is actually not bad. :D

[ref]q96169we[/ref], have you worked out how to book a service using it yet? If I go into the app and go through my preferred dealer, put in my reg and "mileage", it simply gives me a menu of prices and under the car details says "No service pack"

I’m looking at that too and was wondering if the “No service pack” is because we haven’t got one for the reg number and then the next step is the pricing schedule?? If we had purchased one it would say “Service Pack”

Also does anyone know if this is transferable to new owner or can be refunded pro rata if not transferred?

Stays with the car, so transfers to new owner.
I'm going to call local dealer tomorrow, but as they claim not to have heard about it before, on second thoughts I'll try and call BMW connected. Obviously if no local dealers "participate" BMW will have to refund the cost.

@Scubaregs, the online booking still shows "Service Pack: None". I think this is kind of okay at the moment as the purchase needs to firstly sync from ConnectedDrive store to BMW's vehicle record server which then sync to each dealer's system. Nowadays, BMW no longer looks after all the online service bookings. Instead, BMW redirect all online service booking webpage to your selected dealer's website. I think what I will do is call BMW tomorrow when I have time and ask them specifically about this and raise all the concerns you've posted earlier. As said earlier, I've received the VAT invoice from BMW UK and it clearly states its status is paid. So, the worst case here will be the pack is mis-sold and BMW UK has to process the refund, although I don't think this is the case as my local dealer seems to be aware of some service packs were sold during discount seasons.

Online, it states it's transferable but no mention of refund when selling the car.
