BMW Connected Drive expires?

I got an email from BMW that my "BMW Connected Drive" is going to expire in a few days. What the heck is that? The email sounds like pretty much my car will become a simple lump of metal..... :?

In the email it mentions things like "Concierge", "Intelligent Personal Assistant", and <the one that concerns me> "BMW Connected Drive Services". I did a little research, but I don't have a lot of time to pour over this stuff.

I have never used the first two, at least I don't think so. I do use the voice activated things like "Drive home" (Navigation), remote lock and unlock my car, occasionally remote start my car, and the BMW GPS. My car has things like unlock when I approach my car, lock when I leave my car. All those things I though were built into the car and did got have to be "rented".

Anyone know if I will continue to use those things when my subscription runs out? I can live without navigation and just use Android Auto if necessary for the phone, navigation and such.

Thanks.

Doug

Go in to the BMW app and from there go in to the Connected Drive section to see what you have active. Here's what mine looks like.

Had the same about 1 year ago and haven't missed anything they said I would loose.

To be honest most of the stuff except the concierge service which I never used is back up and running but don't tell anyone.

I'm the OP. My results are the same as yours. The things I care about keeping I at least have this week. Glad I didn't over react and pay the $150 fee or whatever it was to continue something I don't use anyway.
