Just wondering if anyone here is a member. Is it worthwhile joining or is the only real benefit a magazine and some recommendations on specialists?

I'm a member here in the US and literally JUST finished an M track day at BMW Spartanburg--a little less seat time than a "real" M school but half the price. Man was it fun. My second one. In a team of 8, I had the fasted lap time in one event. woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :driving:

I am a member in the UK, magazine is nice, 10% discount on servicing and parts is also nice.

£45 per year. Follow the link......

Been a members for many years, good magazine (just been updated) and as mentioned 10% on servicing and parts. With 2 BMWs in my household I generally recoup the cost in discounts through the year.

Is it a discount on OEM parts? I'm looking at buying a few parts in the next couple of weeks (such as MFSW/cruise control) so that would be a great help!

I think 10% discount is only available for participating BMW dealers. I asked my local dealer and they didn't offer discount to BMW Car Club members, so I didn't join.

Cheers for the info. I think, on balance I might save my money. Could always use it to buy a ZHP from Joe at Soper's!

Then why not suggest to them they should...?

Last two services on my BMs in excess of £500 - saving £50 = membership paid for. Magazine has recently been revamped and now i.m.o. opinion at least the equal of news stand BMW mags and certainly not as 'sensational' in its article style (and it's posted to my h/a so no fighting in WHS on a Saturday). Discount list has proved invaluable in negotiating good discounts on tyres, spares, accessories etc. And all this for 86.5p per week (and in reality nothing as I made this up on discounts achieved) - now what can you buy for 86.5p a week nowadays.....?

Don't forget the discount of 10% is on top of all other discounts. So with the X5 being 4 years old, I already get the 20% of labour on servicing. So when the bill comes, the additional 10% is on top of that again.

Like Alan, I have the two BMWs in the fleet, renewal is £35 a year for membership and the savings pay more then enough for that alone.

I know for a fact that some of the Glasgow dealers do subscribe to this scheme.

You can do this as well, pics from Scottish region run last week

They also have some cheap(er) deals on track days for car club members only (e.g. Cadwell Park for £100) and have discount deals with some detailers & Euro Car Parts.

Just phoned Harry Fairbairn Glasgow - they do give the discount. Think I'll be joining BMW car club then!

Im a member, got a discount with my insurance company, well over the membership fee......

The mags are good for a Sunday morning read too
