Anybody know what's going on?

I know that Jeff has been an extremely hard worker for the club for many years, but it looks as if he has parted ways, and the club magazine just leaves a whole load of questions unanswered.

(If he was just leaving for "personal reasons", as mentioned in his column, then I would not wish to pry. However, the club's response just says that it's a pity that he didn't give them more notice, so it sounds like there has been a major disagreement. As a paid-up member of the club, I wouldn't mine knowing what's caused all this).

Yes,its a shame,as Jeff and his wife did alot for the club,activities-wise,running n-e region, and the Club mag, which he did at home initially, and turned it into what it is today.
Sad to see him leave, and i too think its a bit vague as to why he left.
Possible dissagreements/criticism by some ppl or members, etc, etc?

I was very surprised to read that in the August club mag,and the Sept. issue hasnt made it much clearer as to why?
A pity,really.

No idea, but if you volunteer and give up your personal time for a club it's a royal PITA when people who do nothing but snipe from their armchair kick off. Maybe he just decided "F*ck it" and decided to let one of the armchair grumblers try and do better. Shame though.

Yeah, probably has very good reasons, but its a big shame though. i always felt he did an excellent job(from what i saw/read).

+1 Stuart

Last month's magazine made it clear that this was voluntary post and one where there's a lot of work and fair amount of responsibility. You would think that if someone decides to "retire" - for whatever reason - that everyone should just be thankful for their past good (free) work rather than griping about being left in the lurch. Its totally unnecessary and distasteful to be airing it in such a public manner in the club magazine. It's hardly going to help recruit his replacement...

From some discussions I was included in, there is apparently a bit more to it than would meet the eye - which I'm never going to air in public (don't even bother asking or cticising me for not sharing). Let's just say Jeff didn't make everyone feel welcome (same comment from numerous sources) and the BMWCC is not quite what it ought to be. I am a lapsed member, for a number of reasons, and the comments made to me fitted well with the reasons I gave up membership some years ago.

They are however struggling to find a replacemnt for the role. Any volunteers? :| A decent leader with new ideas may tempt some of us lapsed members back to the fold.

I do still, however, support various meets, and will continue to do-so in a non-member role until I feel the club membership is something I wish to aspire to again.

Enough said...
