I'm not getting pissy. Did you not notice the "smiley" face after my "shutup" face"?

The shutup face is so much bigger than the other, that I almost overlooked it

Well, contrary to my last post, my curiosity got the best of me. After looking at the BMW Assist book on line:
http://www.bmwusa.com/NR/rdonlyres/B367 ... re_Web.pdf

I called the toll free number. The customer service person said that if they get a signal from the car that there was air bag deployment, they will call emergency personnel with the car's location - EVEN THOUGH THE CUSTOMER IS NOT PRESENTLY SUBSCRIBED TO THE SERVICE. (sorry for shouting - didn't want anyone to miss that :) )

Wow, didn't mean to start an argument.

I do thank you GaryD for being so interested and getting the answer. Now, I am wondering if there is an answer for this question??

What kind of accident does it take for the airbags to come out?? I was hit in the rear 4 times, 18 wheeler pushed me 200 ft, he was on my trunk the second hit.

The short answer to the airbag question is: If you didn't get hurt physically such as whiplash or broken bones, your car wasn't hit hard enough to deploy the airbags.

I had the same questions after my wife's Golf got t-boned on the freeway by an out of control car. My wife got knocked clean off the road, the driver side doors were pushed in as was the pillar between them and she ended up nose on into a tree. No airbags.

It all comes down to acceleration and deceleration as well as impact sensors. At least that's what my bodyshop guy said.
