BMW Assist autodials, need advice

Hi All,
I have a '07 Z4MC here in the United States. My BMW Assist in the car activates all by itself and calls the BMW Assist center. This doesn't happen all the time but when it does it autodials continuously while I'm driving the car. The car is back at the dealer for the second time for this problem. And YEs, its not a problem when its there. But luckily the Assist people keeprecords of the calls so my dealer knows about the problem.

My dealer has alreasdy replaced the control unit but that did not correct the problem.

So I was wondering if anyone out there has had the same problem and if so, what was done to fix it?

Right now my dealer is not seeing a problem with anything. They will probably replace the SOS button assembly in the off chance its the problem even though it does check out OK.

Thanks
Jim

Hello - Interesting!

Without any technical knowledge of the system -

Could it be any way tied to or running along with the car's "Bluetooth"?
If it only happens when you are in the car, could your phone be "linking" with it as Bluetooth senses and links with your cell phone?
Did you buy the car used? Was there a previous owner's phone programmed to Bluetooth and is setting off the calling sequence?

Let us know how it turns out!

Jack, thanks for the reply. The car was new and is not linking to my phone. The phones control was replaced and yesterday the SOS button assembly was replaced so now I'll drive the car around and see if the button replacement did the trick. The control unit swap did not correct the problem.
