The issue with that Brian might be they don’t order the parts for the build until 3 weeks before they start building so if it’s not ordered yet and they’re not making anymore

Very frustrating for people who are waiting and have already had their build and spec altered

That's a fair point Andy, I guess for anyone still contemplating ordering a new car, then they could be stuffed until the situation changes in the Ukraine. Its just one thing after another

Think I've probably shot myself right in the bollocks selling mine right before this s**t show started but it's done so crying won't help..... :roll:

First world problems but I'm sure the batten will be taken up elsewhere in Europe, money talks and the big manufacturers aren't going to down tools and shut shop.

My VW build slot has not even been confimed - ordered Sept 2021, no delivery date at all. There is an online spreadsheet with people's orders and I can see that orders from March are starting to come through, but that was before this latest mess.

Doubt values will change as I think they are still high. Saying that we steal anycar have mine valued at 40k. Which is less than what I sold my 14 month old car! So prices have dropped off.

Kathleen extended her current Golfs lease for another 3 months again yesterday as no sign of her replacement at all.

Interesting to read that it would appear that BMW production line in Austria did stop.

"Other plants in Germany and the rest of Europe were operating as normal, but the carmaker expected further interruptions due to both the Ukraine crisis and ongoing chip shortages, it said."

Also interesting to read about the neon shortage (with Ukraine being a key supplier of neon) - which is used in the lasers to make semi-conductors.
