absolute tosh. They must have thought, " i have an idea, we all know everybody hates and mocks the 5GT car we brought out, so lets make another that looks just like it!"..........brilliant.
Why is the front end narrow (in height) and then add a massive bulky arse end ?. I agree with Mafoo, they are losing the styling battle very quickly........

Thought the 4 series name was the originally penned for the E92/93 but never made it as people at too familiar with the 3**i branding? :!:
Anyway, one thing is for certain and that it is not my cuppa and it is apparent BMW are answering questions no one is asking.

the fugly ones for me are the X1,X3,5GT, and this new 4 series monster. Strange how the ones ive listed are 'niche'. I agree with Danny boy, they are answering questions nobody is asking creating these garbage niche models.
I hate the 5 GT due to its upright looks, and would buy a salooon. But....
According to reports, they sell about 2000 5GTs a monthglobally. Its a slow seller in the USA because they decided to only offer the 550i at launch, but that's still about 10% of 5 Series sales and a similar number to 1 Series Coupes. Even if its not for us, there is a market for a car like this and BMW know what they are doing, clearly.
Personally I would prefer to see the 3 and 5 GT take on a swoopier look; more like the Passat CC, Merc CLS or the CS concept. I'd actually be interested in a 3 Series GT if it looked like that. spy shots of the car seem to suggest it won't though.

As said, another car nobody needs. Ugly wedgie thing reminds me of a filed-down Austin Princess :thumbsdown:
BMW seem to think buyers want cars that are tall and basically MPV's... they are right.
BUT, manufacturers also see that customers still want low sleek cars, hence the Passat CC, Merc CLS kinda cars.
So basically the 'normal' cars have got all tall and fat, but then they release a 'sport' sleek model for people who want something not crap and ugly
Imo, about 3/4 of modern BMW's are ugly horrible things. A shame because a decade ago it was nearly a 100% desirable tally from me
Only potential next BMW's for me are an M3 of any vintage, or a 135Ci/1M... everything else is lardy, fat, ugly or shite. Talk about a fall from grace. That said, they are selling loads... but selling loads doesn't mean they are good cars any more.
