Exactly why my suspicion was that it's sat unused then been picked up by someone to flip without getting their name on the logbook.

Here we go…yet again! 
After a brief period of (barely controlled) restraint, the ‘usual suspects’ on this forum, being unable to control themselves (yet again), proceed to pull someone else’s car and advert apart.
A car which they have absolutely no intention of buying themselves, yet presume it is their place to cast judgement upon and, in the process, completey blight that car and seller.
It is quite astonishing how this forum is perpetually cursed by this phenomenon. Despite 44 years of unbroken BMW ownership and BMW Car Club membership and having owned circa 70 BMWs, I have never come across a place quite like it. It must be the absolute worst place to try to sell a car!
You’re not going to be buying it. If there’s something you have an opinion about on a particular car or advert, as we all do on every single advert that we see, there is no imperative to vocalise or publish that opinion. Why? Because it’s none of your business!
It’s the business of the seller and the potential buyers….and, you are neither!
In my opinion, the only sensible solution, given that certain people seem unable to control themselves for anything but the briefest of periods, is for the moderators to permanently disable comments in this section.

The downside of that is it would stop anyone interested in the car from expressing their interest.
But putting a higher asking price on the forum than on Autotrader is never going to go down well!
FWIW I sold both of my previous E86s via the forum and found my current one on here, so it can work OK.

You could perhaps institute a facility whereby potential genuine prospective buyers could direct message the seller with their expressions of interest or further questions?
Very odd analysis for someone that has no interest in purchasing. Aerial was removed as it had a cover on it. It’s a 20 year old car for its age it’s in amazing condition.
Reason is I just reduced it on autotrader, however I will be taking it down from here as it’s incredibly strange how involved people want to get for a car they have no interest in buying and have never seen

I find it very funny how everyone here loves to de value the very car they own. These have one of the best engines bmw ever made and look at the value thanks to people getting a kick out of picking apart a genuine loved car. Very odd
You need to actually read some of the responses and the reasons behind them before wading in with your "this forum is so unfair to sellers" rhetoric.
Every single person (IME) on this forum is reasonable and doesn't do the 'facebook' type attitude.
In my case (presumably I am one of the 'haters') it was purely because the OP stated the car as "immaculate" and then proceeded to state it isn't.
The title is misleading. People visit this forum looking for cars to buy. They visit here to potentially buy the best, enthusiast owned, cars. By calling sellers out on their bullshit I think it can help the casual visitors make a more informed decision.
From what I see (and my own opinion) the forum in general only requires sellers to not use the forum as a solely free selling space to a target audience. Lately the majority of new sign-up sellers are struggling to sell their cars elsewhere, so "might aswell give this a go as it's free". They are generally struggling to sell elsewhere because the price they want is too high. It's quite simple.
I have sold four cars on this forum without issue, 'haters', and for decent money. Two were Z4s and two weren't. I have never tried to mislead anyone, or post bullshit about any car I am selling. Maybe that's the secret??

No-one is doing that. You are just over valuing yours and making stuff up to bolster your valuation. Which is why you felt the need to join up here to try and sell IMO. If it ain't selling anywhere else, why would you think it would sell here? Everybody can find cars for sale everywhere in about 30 seconds with the internet.

If a car doesn’t sell, whether that be due to it being seen as too high a price, or for any other reason, to potentially genuine prospective buyers, is no business of yours. It is the buyers. Your commentary has no place in that equation…except seemingly in your own arrogance.
Whether you have sold four cars (oooh gosh!) via this forum, Z4s or not, is similarly totally irrelevant. I can assure you that however many BMWs you think you have sold and, whether you have misled anyone or not, I have bought and sold a lot more than you.
However, this is irrelevant. The fact remains simple. This is none of your business.
I noted that for a brief time you did indeed make efforts to restrain yourself.
I am disappointed that you have clearly failed in those efforts.

If you post on a public forum , it's everyone's business. This isn't anywhere near the same as two people chatting in a café and being interrupted. And it's extremely unlikely anyone will contact the seller on auto trader to carp about price or condition.
I'd have ignored it if the seller had the decency to post something along the lines of "Hi all. Am just here to use your free seller features. Happy motoring"

IMO, @Pondy and others were just giving their view. I think someone who clearly knows these cars, and is calling out what he sees, is actually doing a service to other members. We had it the other week with the rocking horse 3.0 manual M sport 
When I seen the advert, I thought the only thing the OP hadn’t included from the BMW options list was price optimism.
Nothing wrong with asking whatever you like for a car, ultimately it’s worth whatever someone is prepared to pay, but people are perfectly entitled to give their opinion on whether they think it’s realistic on an enthusiast forum.
