BMW $1250 vs tire balance $67

I had an oil change on the z3 done at the dealers and asked for an alignment too, just for a quick check over ... (I had a vibration between 50kmh and 80 kmh)

"we're sorry sir, we can't do the alignment, you have some parts that need replacing. ball joints, bushings and a control arm. That would be $1250 plus the alignment"

The car is stable and turns like a dream, no pulls, no weird clunks etc so I take it to my Tire guy and book the wheel balance ( I had an inkling  )

$67 later the car is running smooth as silk and the vibration is gone. They also told me there's nothing wrong with the front end. Normal wear but not excessive or in need of replacement.

The culprit: BMW Gallery, in Crowfoot (Calgary) The Good guys: Integra Tire, in Crowfoot, the other end of the block from BMW.

just proves how little you should trust the 'experts' pleased you got sorted with little cost though

My mechanic( does our work vehicles) who has his own shop and owned the z3 tells me he runs into dealer corruption at least once a week. That's why hes getting out of the business and moving to Oz, good for me  he couldn't take the z3 so I got it ... :driving:
