BMW 108 Split Rim Alloys - Refurb Required

Hi all,

Got a set of original 108's from my old E86 Z4, no longer require these so I might as well put them for sale. Sadly as is quite common with these they are in need of a refurb but they are not terrible by any means, it's corrosion in the usual place (lacquered outer rim). Thankfully the outer rims on these have not been sprayed over like many I have seen so they should come up a treat when they have been sanded and polished, with a little elbow grease.

Would prefer collection from my home in Burbage, Leicestershire. Looking for £150 ONO.

Thanks guys,
Josh

Not to my knowledge. When I purchased my E86 they were on the car in this condition, but the original lacquer on the outer rim leads me to believe they've never been split.

£250 in that condition? Good luck!

Ref Simon’s question, if the outers are painted white then they are probably as original. If they are silver then I would suspect they have been refurbished (i.e split) previously. In that case, get some helicoils ready....

Offers more than welcome, I put them at this price as I bought a secondary set some years ago that were in a similar condition for the same price - maybe I was ripped off :D ! I'd be confident in saying they have never been split though.

Unfortunately you have two main problems with 108’s these days. Firstly because of the well known issue with corrosion a lot of people have move to different after market wheels so they are a lot more common and easier to get hold of now than they were a few years ago.

That is the crux of the second problem because they are split rims they cost more to refurbish, a place in Brum charge £50 per wheel (if you split them yourself) my local place charge £100 each, I can get a new set of CSL reps for that.

Which is exactly why you have problem No 1.

Makes sense, they were a little harder to come by a couple of years back. Prices to refurb were a little lower too, I remember having my spare set done for £25 per wheel in Birmingham when split myself.

I've reduced down to £150 ONO for anyone who's still interested.

Thanks,
Josh
