Blutooth iPod stream?

I've recently discovered my car has blutooth, I've managed to sync my phone etc together for phone use.

Is there anyway to stream music via blutooth? Or even an external kit that helps with this?

What else can blutooth do apart from call people/phonebook? No nav btw.

Hi Chris. The Bluetooth implementation in the Zed is quite basic, phone calls and texts (depending on phone compatibility) only

You'll have to fit an iPod kit if you want to use it for music. Lots of options available:

Intravee/Alpine kca-420i combo. This is what I have in mine. Excellent stuff, but with no nav you might not want to take that route. I went this way for the integration into the nav display

Dice mediabridge. Not tried one but plenty on the forum have

Dension gateway, I had one of these in my mini, it was fine although I had to get a couple of firmware updates to get the volumes correct and cure some distortion from my iPod touch

Or add a Bluetooth music receiver, and connect to auxilary in. You can then tuck it away out of site and stream music without wires.

That works, but I was using the Aux port and it's dangerous trying to change tracks etc. Having the steering wheel controls is a godsend

Excellent thanks mate.
The dice kit looks good, but they're all rather expensive essentially for a USB port..!

Tempting to just put in an aftermarket mp3 player, I have a decent one in the garage but I do like the oem look!

Thanks for the other replies too, although I won't be going down the aux route, poor quality..
 
Aux quality is great. Certainly better than needed whilst driving with all the road/engine noise. It's an analogue signal, and still used in recording studios. :D
Not forgetting that the amp is connected to the speakers with wire/analogue cable.

Bluetooth streaming is not as good but passable.
