Bluetooth!?

Ok… here’s my dumb question of the day…

How do I pair my phone with the vehicle Bluetooth? I read the instructions about 10 times and still haven’t seen any “pairing” text on the screen. Is the phone cradle a mandatory piece if I want to use my phone through Bluetooth?

Are you sure you have the bluetooth set up or just the buttons and no actual bluetooth set up installed? The phone cradle piece if you mean the part that actually holds the phone is not necessary, but part of the bluetooth set up includes the pairing button for the bluetooth. I believe your car is not set up with bluetooth.

What button are you holding down when trying to pair?

Assuming you have located the bluetooth pairing button, this is what I do to pair:

1) remove key from ignition
2) hold down the bluetooth pairing button (the one on the end of the drop-down front of the centre cubby hole)
3) insert key and turn the ignition to position 2
4) as soon as the screen starts to pop up, let go of the pairing button
5) wait a couple of seconds, and the pairing screen comes up

Mine didn't seem that complicated, got the phone, an LG to the pair mode, pushed the phone button on the steering wheel, pair something or other came up on the radio, Key was on by the way, bushed the button on the phone, made a connection, put in the secret code that was asked for, saw the bwm s/n come up in the phone. and the deal was done. It tried to down load my phone book, but don't know it if did. But when I call the speakers work, and when some one calls me, I push the phone button and we talk. I still need to read the book again. The card that came with the car told me to do the above, 2007.

Hmmm I have a 2007 as well, and the instructions are pretty similar to what you are explaining. Ill try just as you have explained here to see what happens. And BTW, the stealership said I had bluetooth when I picked up the car yesterds. I dont have a button in the center cubby (I was under the impression that you only get that button with a "cradle"), but I have the phone looking icon on my steering wheel. <))) also, it shows signal strength and whatnot when i go to phone setting in the navigation screen...? im pretty confused lol :?

I have the button and no cradle for the phone.....all in the console that folds down. There are 2 buttons that look the same one on the steering wheel and one in the console unit that is installed if you have bluetooth. Still not sure if you have bluetooth since you seem to not have the console unit. And everyone knows salesmen don't know what they are talking about.

so apparently it was the r/t button that i was supposed to be pushing....

has anyone tried pairing a samsung blackjack? when i called the bluetooth hotline i was told that its possibly just my phone model.

ps... i know its not on the "compatability list"
