Bluetooth Speed-dial

Anyone know how this is organised? Seems to be randomly assigned..

I cant find any reference to the speed dial on my phone and when I hit R/T on my MFSW it always takes me to the speed dial not the directory.

If I want to use the directory I have to use the knob which I find dangerous while driving..

I feel your pain I haven't even got speed dial with my iPhone.

I have top 8 but these are just the 8 people I ring most.
 
You have to add names and numbers.

Say "add name"

Follow the voice prompt directions.

Then say "name".

Car says "please say the name".

You say "Chris bangle",

Cars says "would you like to dial Chris bangle?"

You say "yes"

Car says "dialing number"

Works for me anyhow!

Hold down the button on the steeting wheel with the speaker logo
Mine doesnt have it - but apparantly you can code it to enable it IF you have the right bluetooth ULF module -
 
Im pretty sure Voice Control is an optional extra I dont have.

But as I do have Nav, MFSW and Bluetooth I will try it next time anyway..
 
My car is a US spec Z4 3.0si, 2006 model year. It came with the factory installed bluetooth unit that you operate using the controls on the multi-function steering wheel. I assumed that any Z4 with the BMW bluetooth feature also came with the voice command feature. But that is just an assumption on my part.
 
Push and hold talk button and then let go: When it ask what command say, read phone book. It will then read the available numbers/people inthe phone book.

I don't get the MFSW, but i do have nav. proff. and bluetooth.
Bluetooth works perfectly on the screen to.

But nothing happens, when I push the voice control-button (half a face with 3 lines in front of the face) i the centerconsol (where you can store your old crappy Nokia :P ).
Do I not have the voice control, or...? It seems weird, I get the VC-button, the nab. and the bluetooth, but no VC?!

I'm looking to see if I can turn mine on. I bought a NavCoder interface which has this option.

Once this is done, if there is no other reason to keep I will be selling on.
 
Confirmed I dont have voice control, still never found out how the speed dial works! Nor the most recent numbers, its a struggle to get to the person I want to call if im honest!
 
Voice control is an added extra on top of Bluetooth. Also led to belive if screen is fitted then voice control doesn't work at all, just what have read up on.
 
I have voice control in my car (with nav) would be nice if it worked with siri!

Its not worth it to be honest.... What i do now is when in my car i use siri from the car BT (but pressing the button on my iphone) and can call/ text, etc.

The speed dialling thing in my car seems to pick up the last 10 or so numbers that i have dialled from my directory within the car.... So only have 2 numbers on there.... The gf and my parents :oops:

Hi, did you manage to turn it on?
I have a 2006 3.0si ,I have found out it depends on what ULF module is fitted , but I can't seem to find that info either.
If anyone could point me in right direction I would be very gratful.
I have the factory Bluetooth fitted but no nav.
Just to clarify its the voice control I would like to get activated if it is possible?
