How does everyone get on with the factory fitted Bluetooth system?

I have regular complaints when i'm on the phone that there is loads of background noise, even when doing 60/70 mph!

Any suggestions as to what I can do to imporve it?

Thanks

Nope it's just crap and a total BMW rip off. The car is simply too noisy for such a poor quality system. If you really need it then i'd suggest getting a Parrot kit or similar professionally installed and ignore BMWs poor poor effort.

No problems on mine. Retrofitted the factory kit myself.

I fitted an upgraded mike and used the later position that mounts on top of the column not the mirror /centre light.

Quality is fine. Not as good as the X5 (same system retrofitted too) but that's due to cabin noise. Never had any complaints from others and can talk at 60+ just fine.

Agree that OEM it's a way overpriced solution but love its integration and functions

I have no issues with mine either, but I dont use it very often as I like to keep conversations on phone short while driving.

I do have an issue with the way it co-exists with my TomTom though - but not enough to retro-fit factory nav :D

No problems with the function of the system. I think that there is some wind noise on occasion but doesn't prevent use .

Humm - im gonna throw my zed back at the dealers then (warranty) as my bluetooth sounds q is terrible!

No problem with mine on the Z4M C, turn up the button on the left for more volume.

Screw this I'm off to blast round Leeds now

I'm back

I must admit serveral laws have been broken over the prevoius hour, but a what machine :driving: :driving:

Possible my fav car ever

In a word...cack.

Perfect sound quality my end, those on the other often complain its awful (my Mic is on the steering column). Common trait of the system though, I've had it in two E46s and the Z4 (same system?) and the quality on the other end is very flakey.

Sound is on both sides good in mine, but I have a hard time hearing the other side when I'm driving highway speeds. The volume is just not loud enough. Any ideas?

Can't even pair it with my Samsung i780 phone, crap technology...

I know I'm going off topic, but I must admit the build quality of BMW is below par of many mass volume Japanese cars, my driver side door handle panel has fallen off, the battery goes flat after moving the seats back and forth a few times for hovering, but what a machine....

Same problem here...Can't seem to make it loud enough on some calls.

Interesting--so is there a way to turn up the volume transmitted? Hubby says it sounds like I'm in the back of a cave when I call him from the car. I can usually hear him quite well--Carver system and all that.

When I did the retrofit in my X5 I added a DSP amp as recommended by Martin at bimmernav.com That allowed me to set the volume at whatever I needed and once set has been left alone. Did not need it on the Z4 (so I was told by the same guys.

Guess the audio guys can advise if the carver system incorporates this, or a separate amp can/should be built into the bluetooth circuit or perhaps try bimmernav.
