Bluetooth question

Picked up my 3.0i roadster last week and love it. It came from a dealer so I can’t ask the previous keeper but it appears to have a Bluetooth module linked to the business radio unit. It shows up as JIERUIBT-5608 which looks like it’s an aftermarket addition and should link to the CD selection as I don’t have an AUX option. However, when I select CD it just displays no disc present and returns to radio.

Anyone got any idea what I’m doing wrong please.

Thanks in advance.

Aftermarket devices can be connected in a couple of places

Either via adapter or plug into the back of the head unit itself, the first sits in series effectively, the other is a plug into the ports

The second is where the cd changer plug is behind the centre console

Find it and you’ll know more

Sorry if I am telling you the obvious, but I assume you have something like this

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bstepompre-Wireless-Bluetooth-JieRui-BT-Auxiliary-Black/dp/B0CR727R4T

At least you know what to look for and I suspect it's not clever enough to pretend to be a CD

I have the same JIERUIBT-5608 adapter. When it is correctly plugged into the back of your head unit, you should automatically see the AUX appear when cycling through your sources and that’s what you need to select. Works flawlessly on mine.

Thanks all. I haven’t pulled the radio out yet but maybe the plug is loose or something as it sounds like it should be showing up as AUX.

Many thanks.

Yes, the plug must be seated with the latch in the locked position. Good luck, I’m sure you will get it to work.

Thanks for all the advice. Bizarrely the Bluetooth has started working on its own. Today on getting in the car it automatically linked to my phone bluetooth and switched to AUX. Weird but it seems to be working fine so well pleased.

Excellent! You’ll find it works really well.

Especially for the price of <$30 bucks and a 10 minute install.

I have the same adapter fitted to my 04 3.0i E85. It plays music through it flawlessly, but will not play audio from phone calls through the car speakers.

Has anyone else had this issue and managed to resolve it?

It is not an issue. I have a bluemusic but it doesn't matter, the one we have is not meant/coded for that. It is audio only.
There is a separate one to buy which supports music and calls.
