Hi,can you`s help me .Got my z4 coupe last week got bluetooth prep,on trying to pair my phone i can`t even get anything coming up on display, also don`t have number for pairing ,can i get this from dealer.

hello - are you following the correct procedure?

Hold the pairing button down (this is in the fold down flap between the seats, not the one on the steering wheel)
While holding it down, turn the ignition to the 2nd position
Keeping holding it for a further 3 secs... Car should beep (I think) and BT Pairing appear on the radio display
release button and search for the car with your phone.... you WILL need that number for pairing though. Written on the module in the boot on the firewall behind the carpet - or yes dealer should be able to find it
once paired - you can turn the ignition off.

* disclaimer - all the above from memory so apologies if there are any mistakes...

For it to pair properly you must turn the ignition off after pairing and on again for it to work.

Dealer can get code for you if they connect up to computer. Takes two minutes.

Gannet is correct .
The 4 digit pin is on the Bluetooth Module mounted on back wall of Boot

Alternatively the dealer can interrogate the car's system via a hookup to their computers and obtain it that way .....chargeable unless you can get Dealers sales to take charge

The Pin would have been with the car's documentation as new ,have you searched for it it is allegedly printed on a card .

You should have a telecoms booklet with docs which specifies the method ,if not I have a pdf prepared for another poster which I can email if you pm me

that's where my PIN is, card with all the docs :D

If you bought it from the dealer (and you can't find it in any of the locations the other guys have listed) then dealer should hook up computer and tell you code for free.

I had a similar problem. I couldnt get it even to search to pair. It turned out that the cable that runs from the cubby hole to the bluetooth phone holder on the lid had snapped which I needed then to replace. Think there is a link on here somewhere where you can check ou the pic.

Hi ,Got the the phone to find blue tooth in car but still don`t have blue tooth code , went to dealer today, need to plug into machine and find it ! £90 1 hours labour ! don`t think so ! Was going to phone last owner but have sent docs to DVLA.Tryed to find code on firewall but have to remove all trim & carpet in boot . is there a easier way ?
Regards
Gordon

£90 is disgrace :headbang: . Sandal in Wakefield charged me £20 for exact same thing. I regret even paying that cos I've since had boot carpet up for Intravee install and it's no problem at all

Docs refer to the manuals and other booklets which ship with the car new There would have been a card with the 4 digit Pin in the big folder

Go back to sales and complain if you cannot find it and get them to field the cost as you cannot use a facility they no doubt "sold " you .
Service dept will charge they are a separate cost centre in the Dealership.

There is no easy way to get the number off the ULF module

When I bought my car from Norwich they assured me that the code was in the book, but wasn't. So went down to my local BMW dealer Coventry and they did it for £20. I then sent the bill to Norwich and they sent me a cheque for that amount. Try speaking to the actual person who sold you the car and complain they'll do it then.

Hi , Do i have too remove all the trim and carpet to get the number for bluetooth from firewall ?

Probably , I could not see the number so assumed you have to unbolt the unit to read the #
Have you checked all through the manuals for the card ??

Yes !i have all the manuals & receipts for everything ,bill off sale , the only thing not there BLUETOOTH number !

Hmm I had same problem and I bought car from Supplying Dealer and prev owner was very local
Have you tried pinning the salesman and telling him to sort it .If you go through service you will pay for the time in handling usually min 1Hour
actual may only take 2 mins but the handling takes time so don't blame service
Hit Salesman as you cannot use a feature .
I am assuming the car is a Dealer purchase AUC vehicle ............if not pay the price or get unpinning the
Boot firewall carpeting :headbang:

Oh dear no pressure you can apply to an AUC dealer then.
You will have to pay up or take out the ULF unit from back firewall
Jamie carpenter put up some detailed pics ,probably in how to , which show the unit once carpet is out should unbolt then easily
Afraid a Dealer will charge normal rates for obtaining the code .
You could try an indie they have kit for coding BMWs

Best thing to do is go to the boot with a two pence coin and undo the two black plastic carpent screw on the back left hand side of the boot. Not difficult apart from you need to almost get in the boot. Then take out the floor cover which hides the battery, then pull back the remaining carpet over the battery. then pull up the back piece of carpet on the left hand side only. Then use a wrench with I think a 8mm socket and just undo the four or five little bolts holding the bluetooth unit it will drop down then the code is on a little flap of paper. I ripped mine off then stuck it in my manual. Then just put everything back. Job done. :)

Cheers Jamie will try again tomorrow,Had a look yesterday was affraid i ripped carpet or damaged side panels.Pulled it up but was unable to see unit.
