Bluetooth phone scares the hell out of....options?!

Well not the technology!

When my phone rings in my car it scares the bejesus out of me, seems to ring so loud & a very harsh ring tone to it.

Cannot locate anything in the manual for changing this & doesn't appear to be linked to my ringtone.

Is this something I just have to put up with it, or am I missing something obvious?

Also on a side note, the call quality seems to be terrible vs a bt headset, is there a way to improve this?

The ring tone is a bit naff, yes. You can not change it ...

The volume is controlled via the buttons on the steering wheel though, so if it rings, you can lower the volume and it will stick for the next time. However, this also reduces the "listening" volume ...

I find it more shocking when I have the iPod on loud, roof open, screaming with the music and suddenly the music goes quiet when the phone rings ... Oops

1st time it rang, I was parking & almost sh@t myself as never heard it previously.

Every other time I've just panicked!

Will try the volume knob, strangely never thought of that........oh dear!

I had the same issue with the satnav woman in my Landy, yelling at me all the time....just couldn't find anything in the manual to shut her down a touch...then I tried the volume knob with the radio off and just the sat nav on......blessed relief .
