Bluetooth Phone Preperaption with Iphone

Hi Guys, I'm new to the Z4, just picked up 57 plate coupe (love it!) with bluetooth phone preperation, but can't get it to work. I have followed the instructions in the book, but no phones are recognised. All I get is the message 'No Phone' on the radio display. Does anyone know how I can connect?

Thanks in advance

Hi Mark - welcome to the fourm

Don't have bluetooth on mine, but pretty sure someone will be along and let you know how to set up.

Hi and welcome
First thing to try is to remove all previous pairings from car .Remove the pairing at iPhone end as well and start from scratch

Hiya
Do you have the pairing code? You need to turn the ignition to point 1, then press phone button in the storage compartment or 3 seconds, it should then flash phone pairing, now search on your iPhone for it. Use they ring code then turn ignition offence pairing complete, ope that helps if it's wrong I'll dig out the instructions but think that's it from memory

Hi, Drjcb198. Thanks for repy. The problem is that nothing happens when I hold down the phone button in either the storage compartment or on the multi-function steering wheel. I don't get any messages at all on the display. This means I can't even delete any existing paired devices... :(

If I figure it out I'll post it!!

Do you have the pairing code 4 digits ? and is the car from BMW Dealer ie AUC cover
If you don't have code Dealer has to extract from car systems and you may have a fault anyway in B/T

Hi,

Yes, I have the code. Car from independent dealer with standard warranty. May take it down to BMW to find out problem....

Just checked manual the ignition needs to be off then hold button in storage compartment then after 3 seconds turn to ignition 1 the keep holding then should say pairing after bout three seconds. Try that

Drjcb198, you're a genius. This worked....I must have had key in position 1 then moved to position 2 instead! I'll try not to be such a dingbat in future.

Thanks again
