Bluetooth phone prep

I had to pair mine today as ive had a new phone it took me at least 5 attempts.

The key to this i found as described in above post, is to press voice button on arm bit for 3 seconds then turn ignition to position 1 then release button no later than 3 seconds i found i was pressing the button for too long.

You then should see the bluetooth pairing on the screen

Make sure your bluetooth is on on your phone and you have the 4 digit code.

Cheers

Hi guys, new owner here. I have the bluetooth prep pack and have everything ready to go. I can get the headunit to display "bt pairing" but I don't know the code.

I'm in a coupe - how exactly do I get to the module in the boot? Does the carpet lift up - I don't fancy smashing clips!

The manual is missing by the way :(

Thanks

*edit* is it in the cabin, behind the passenger seat in the coupe!?

Thanks Animal - I'll give that a try. I managed to get the BT pairing yesterday but didn't have the pass code so all was in vain.

Animal- excellent it all worked as described :D except I tried 0000 etc as the passcode , but to no avail. have to get in touch with the dealer for the code as it didn't come with the vehicle.

Thanks

have to get in touch with the dealer for the code as it didn't come with the vehicle.

They will not have the code it is not on the car's records .It has to be extracted from the ECU
ANY dealer can harvest the code or an indie with the relevant equipment
How do I know , I had to do it as has my son who has just purchased a 3.0si

Sorry - red wine cutting in - meant rear bulkhead. Think of the vertical partition behind the seats.

I have a pdf of the relevant manual page on pairing how does one mount a pdf in how to section might help the " how do I pair in B/T " postings

Unfortunately there aren't any decent garages around me, and god knows how far the bmw dealer is :(

Anyone know where the module is on the coupe? I read one post saying that it was where the sub woofer would be - but i've had that panel out and there's nothing in the void :(

Thanks for the pointer wegras

I need to speak to the dealer - so they can fund the cost of another dealer doing this work :!:

Took it in to Rybrook BMW in Leamington on my way home. Jobs done (gonna cost the dealer £69) - reception is perfect and clear. :D Thanks for all your comments and wisdom

Do the bluetooth capabilities extend only to making phone calls? I'd be interested in pushing music from my phone to the stereo wirelessly.

Sadly you can't use the bluetooth to stream music, this would be an awesome solution...it really annoys me given you'll find this on virtually any aftermarket head unit.
