Bluetooth phone prep

Appreciate any comments.

I have the phone prep but no idea how it all hangs together with a phone. do I need extra cables?
:?

bluetooth is a wireless tech, so no extra wires...

drop down the storage compartment door between the seats you should have a button in the door itself...

pairing goes something like:

press and hold that button
turn ignition on but dont start the car - keep button pressed for further 3/5 seconds
car will beep and 'BT Pairing' appear on radio display.
on your phone go to bluetooth settings and turn on and search for devices... it chould find the car 'BMW some no'
select that option and enter the passcode - should be in your documentation somewhere - if not on the module in the boot behind the carpet or you can ask your stealer
BT Pairing suceeded should then appear on radio display...

you can then start using the phone in the car (steering wheel buttons)...

* all that done from memory so apologies if I have missed anything...

Sounds pretty close to me Gannet :)
Sometimes you have to repeat the ignition on process a few times until it all works.

Once paired just set your phone to 'trusted' or 'auto' or something similar, then each time you start the car and bluetooth is 'on' on the phone it will pair automatically and be available to use from the display screen or steering wheel.

Yep, you're memory is good as it worked, although I need to get a passcode off the dealer

Check you're handbook and glovebox, even the tool bag as it's printed on a card.

You can also lift the carpet and read it off the side of the module. Looking for a 4 digit numerical code.

They need to hook it up to extract the code it is not held in any records at BMW etc if the card is missing

Get it off the side of the Bluetooth module in the boot or buy my resler ibus USB interface as one of it's many talents is to allow Bluetooth pairing.

Should be on the rear firewall on the botton left hand corner. Look for a bulge 2" deep and about 9" wide by 6" high. It's behind that. Printed on a label on the side.
