Bluetooth Phone Directory

Hi All,

I was told by Wolverhampton BMW that my Samsung G600 would not be in any way compatible with my Factory Bluetooth Kit, i was told it wont connect, and even if I did get it to connect, it would just cut off any phonecall after a few seconds.

I have now been using it daily for coming and outgoing calls and it works absolutley fine! I had a 25 minute conversation on my way home from Lincoln at the weekend and it worked great!

If i receive a call; the name of the caller is displayed on my Sat Nav screen exactly as it is in my phone. If i manually enter a phone number on the Nav Unit that is already in my phonebook; it will display on screen exactly as it is in my phone, even if it has unusual characters. For example, my girlfriend is is my phone as 'Min ****' and even this displays perfectly.

The only thing i seem to have trouble with is the 'Phonebook' feature. It just says 'Please Wait' for ever and doesn't change.

This means that at the moment, if i want to call my girlfriend for example, i have to go to 'Recently Dialled Numbers' and scroll through my dialled numbers trying to remember the last digits of her phone number to determine which number is hers.

Is there anything i can do with my current phone to get this to work, or are there any suggestions of a model of phone anyone can give me that are fully compatible with my car?

Any help would be great :)

Thanks

Nick

Is your SMS memory empty or full - some people report better phone book transfer with empty SMS memory...

Some have to actually 'push' the phonebook across apparently :?

hmmmm....

My SMS Inbox is always about 95% full, ill try clearing it!

How do you 'Push' the phonebook? Do you mean manually input them into the car's directory? :?

Thanks for your help

Take a look at this thread

I believe there is an option on some phones to 'push' the address book over.... not sure cos mines automatic :?

My Blackberry/s only work if I go into the menu, bluetooth, paired devices, select the X5 or Z4 and select 'transfer address book'. Works just fine then to update it.

I did however have limit the phones address book size by filtering as it was too large for the Zeds ULF

I had that phone and it worked fine also. Occasionally i got the "please wait" but turning the phone off then on again sorted everything.
