Bluetooth Passkey

Hi All. Just bought a beautiful Z4 Coupe 3.0si in black which I can definately the best car I have ever driven. Just wondering if I could ask a question. I have bluetooth but I do not know the PK code or Passkey for it. It's a 2008 and has the Sat Nav screen etc. I've spoken to BMW and they said that the code would be 0000. However, I've tried that and it doesn't work. I have read a couple of posts about ripping up the carpet in my boot etc and looking for a silver box but I'm a bit worried about ripping up a very well fitted carpet on my brand new car. Also all the instructions about taking up the carpet are for pre 2005 models.

Anybody know an easier way ?

Thanks in advance.

Yes - ask a BMW dealer and they can just look it up on their system. It will not be 0000 they may well charge you.

Alternatives are to check the document wallet for a card with it on or lift the carpet. No 'ripping involved'

Look forward to some pictures

Thanks for the quick reply.

Ok I'll take it to a dealer tomorrow and see if I need another bank loan for them to hand over the number. If they do I'll brave it and see how I go about carefully lifting my carpet.

I'll get some pics ASAP. I picked it up last night and since then we've had rain, hailstorms and even lightning. I'm desperate for a bright day and a dry road to try it out properly.

hello and welcome

i assume you bought it privately, otherwise i would be wanting BMW to provide the code for free

I'm sure you've already looked, but jyst incase, my code was printed in the phone manual in the folder. Hidden away with service book etc..

Hi. I have an On Board Computer manual which tells you how to use the telephone but it mentions several times to see the separate operating instructions which I don't have. I've been through everything and there is nothing with it on. I got it from an independent dealer so don't really have a lot of comeback I guess. I just hope BMW dealer can find it for me without a huge cost.

Unfortunately the code is in the car systems and not BMW's .They have to hook the car up to workshop system and give you a print out, probably chargeable (of course)
As others have posted the code is supplied on a white card at delivery which seems to rarely make it to future owners, possibly written on the relevant handbook, worth checking .
The code is also printed on the side of the Bluetooth unit in boot ( well, in Roadster it is ).

logically the code should be in BMW central car records  since the code card almost always seems to go missing, I found that out the hard way of course

Mind you getting the code is only part one of the journey working out how to use without booklet is another thing

To OP if you don't have Communications booklet pm me and I can send you a pdf of relevant page

Good luck with getting your code,

Once you get it clear all the other paired phones off it before connecting yours as I think they can have a maximum of 4 paired at any one time

I'm not sure 'clearing' is required other than good housekeeping.
The pairing attempts the most recently added phone first and if not there moves to the next and so on.

If the pairing is full then the oldest phone drops off if a new one is added.
