Bluetooth pairing

When i bought my car, i found i had troubles too. It turned out that there we're all ready 4 or 5 phones paired and so the BMWXXX wouldn't show up in the pairing list. Try deleting the old phones before you pair

Can anyone help me out with how to delete old phones?

pm me and I'll send a pdf of the manual

Can i revive this thread please.

Having problem with pairing. I am holding the button in the centre console, turning key etc, my iphone 4 is not finding the car and the sat nav just says searching!! Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated

I don't know if it has changed across iOS versions, and I no longer have an iPhone, but I think if you turn the Bluetooth on the phone off, and on again it will put it in discoverable mode.

One other gotcha, you have got your bluetooth code for the car?

Edit - Another gotcha, have you deleted all the current pairings? This has been known to prevent a successful pairing.

Deleted all other pairings off my iphone or for the car?

Off to see if i have the pairing code...............

All the pairings for the car. Don't bother with any of it if you don't have the code for the car. You should have a card with all the books, but if not you can sometimes find it by looking on the module, or else you'll need to get someone to plug in INPA, the diagnostic s/w which can interrogate the car and read the pairing code.

Woop woop. Thankyou stuart truman found another bit of your advice on another section and it worked first time. :driving:

Now to figure out voice command and favourite numbers!

One more question though please, can the satnav screen only hold 6 radio stations my professional radio held 12?

Good job :)

It will only hold 6 presets, but my screen shows a number of strongest stations dependent upon what it sees. There are a few versions of the head unit though. The easiest way to tell if you have an up to date one is if the TMC at the bottom of the screen shows green when tuned into any station other than classic FM.

Yep TMC does show up green. Was wondering what that was for :D

Hi All,
I'm having trouble with my Bluetooth for my Iphone 6. here is the break of what I'm doing and what my result is:
Ignition off hold b/t in the console for five seconds.
turn on ignition to 1
pairing appears
add pin on iphone
success is displayed
on the iphone it said its not connected and when ringing the phone doesn't come through the car
After selecting the bt is connect for a second and then disconnects.
Also, I have reset and deleted the phone from the car and iphone itself

Cheers,

Jay

I can't believe I'm reviving an old thread... but I hit a brick wall (and even following the instructions from own thread on B\T pairing) can't get pairing mode started. Does the car just reach a limit and say "bugger off"? I thought it goes through a 1st in 1st out when you hit the limit?

Desperately trying to add new phone to car.

Cheers,

T1b
