Im having trouble connecting my Iphone to my 07 z4 coupe. I can just about manage to get the car to say bluetooth pairing and I find a connection named "handsfree" but when i try to pair them the connection fails any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have the Communications Booklet
I am assuming you have the factory fit B/T
if not drop me a PM and I will send you a pdf of the relevant pages
easy when you have it front of you

Yeh I think I have the Bluetooth factory fitted. Not entirely sure how I can be 100% certain though.

in the drop down arm there should be a box to take the snap in with a button marked B/T or similar

sorry should have said PM me with your email address if you want the Pdf of the Comms manual page

PM sent as I too am struggling. I've tried a few of the suggestons listed in here without success. perhaps I'm just too stoopid!

You've got the book and code right? It might take a few attempts but it should sync fine. Annoyingly you can only seem to link one phone to the car though :(

To the guys who Pm me email sent with Pdf
As other poster said might take a couple of tries but mine does work fine on latest iOS 4.2.1 on both an iPhone 4 and 3G

Just paired an iphone 4 to both my 'old' BMW's and it took about 2 to 3 minutes each.
Regardless of what it says in the manual just try a few combinations of holding the pair button then turning the key or turning the key then the pair and it will trip into pairing. Just set you phone under Settings, General, bluetooth and when it find the BMW ulf put the code in. Bingo

No idea why others can't add more than 1 phone - I have more than 1 and the ULF just looks for the newest first then goes down the list.

Thanks! now paired

Hi,

I am having the same problem with my iphone 3GS and can't seem to get anything to come up on the phone at all - just says searching. Tried turning the phone on and off while the car was on but no joy. Can anybody help? I have the factory fitted bluetooth.

Cheers!

Have you put the car onto pairing? Once it's trying to pair get the phone to search and it should find it.

The limit is 5 paired phones by the way, I tried it and it failed at 6.

Have you got the manual ? and the pairing code for car ?
If not pm me and I will send you a pdf ( one I prepared earlier ) but the code has to come from Car system

I'm not sure if the car is in pairing, it just says activate phone on the sat nav screen. I have the Bluetooth code for the car and the general manual but I'm not all that great with technology! :( I'm not even getting to the stage of asking for the code yet, the phone won't find the car. My nokia used to pair fine. I wondered if I needed to clear that phone first somehow? Also was wondering what the button on the pull down flap does? Cheers.

LEC - you have to put the car's bluetooth module into pairing 1st
Generally it involves turning the key to position 1 while holding down the pairing button for a few seconds.
Have the phone already on with bluetooth turned on. Once the Zed's in pairing mode get your phone to search for new devices and it will find the Zed and ask you to input the pin into the phone.

Can'r recall Iphone3 as I have a 4 but genreally set it to connect automatically every time

That's its'

Thanks for that cj10jeeper - I'm now fully up and running with the bluetooth! :) It is also mch better than my Nokia - much clearer and louder! Thanks again, and to wegras for the offer of the pdf.

Glad you got sorted. You should now have it connect automatically each time the car is switched on and it should also load your contacts.
