Bluetooth pairing woes with Android

Hi all, have searched already but no luck thus far.

After some help getting my phone to pair to my z4 coupe the pairing seems OK, pass codes accepted etc but it then says 'please wait' and nothing more happens. The noises of disk writing from the unit in the storage compartment stops and that is that, the contacts do not sync.

Any ideas. Just bought car and last owner had phone working so could it be an Android thing, he had an Apple iPhone 6s.

Should I just wait even longer?

Anyone know the remedy?

Cheers,

Rob

Well I can tell you it's not having an Android phone that is your problem as mine pairs fine. Also the disc you mentioned is nothing to do with the bluetooth. That is the maps disc for the satnav you can hear. Try deleting all previously paired devices and then re pair yours.

I've cleared the previous phones successfully and deleted the car from my phone and started again. Got it paired and still said Please Wait, so drove around for 15 minutes and it was still saying it. I made a call from the handset and it came through the speakers, I could turn volume up and down and hang up using the voice button. Could also answer an incoming call. Just can't sync the contacts. I'm happy enough with this for now, more to answer calls than make them as the sound of engine is company enough! :)

Which phone do you have? My missus had a problem where the contacts wouldn't not sync in her Nissan Juke but everything else worked like yours. There is an app in the store that changes something to do with the bluetooth so the contacts then sync.

Nexus 5 - no problems with Contacts sync. Hope you get yours sorted. It's a shame there's no A2DP streaming for music though :(

Tried the Bluetooth Connection app and still no luck, have a Sony Z3 Compact, maybe there are some settings blocking it. Oh well, it can still receive calls without me having to touch the phone, that'll have to do. Seems a very common problem across all cars and phones so I'm not alone. Thanks all anyway.

The app I was thinking of is the Bluetooth phone book app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android_rsap.irmc&hl=en_GB

It sorts the problems that the oneplus x and oneplus 2 can have with displaying the phone book.

I have no knowledge on Sony phones but it could be the answer to you problems as all Android phones are the same in the back ground.
