Bluetooth pairing taking forever

Hi guys,

I'm having a bit of trouble pairing my phone with the Bluetooth in my 04 z4. The display says 'sucessful' and then beeps, but then goes on to say 'BT Pairing' for upwards of 20 minutes or so - at which point I normally give up. I'm assuming it couldn't possibly take that long to upload my contacts to the system right? Any help much appreciated!
 
had the same problem when I first got my Z. It turned out that there was a message on my phone telling me to input the pairing number.
 
Thanks for the reply. Yeah I put the number in and it all went through and said it was connected, but then nothing happened other than it flashing BT Pairing until I got out of the car. No matter I guess, not like I ever have any urgent calls. I'll distract myself from it by fixing the flashing roof switch light...hopefully!
 
Had the same problem in mine. Deleted all old paired devices. Then worked fine. Have a look in the manual on how to do it as I've forgot. Or search on the site.
