Bluetooth Pairing Finally working - But

Hi

I recently ran a thread concening my bluetooth pairing kept failing, well I have sort of resolved the problem, but with an issue,,

The car will only pair with the phone (a Nokia 6308 classic) if i switch the bluetooth on the phone off and then back on again (or I power the phone off and back on) everytime I start the car, then its stays connected no problem, phone directories etc, till I switch the ignition off.

I have checked all the settings on the phone and have no issues with it connecting to my hands free in my van, the car has had the latest software update,

has anyone else had this?

Could it be the module in the car, or the phone??

Any help would be appreciated.

Rusty

Is there a setting on the phone to make it a trusted pairing to the Zed? You may already have it set that way for the van pairing

Check what cj is saying.
One other possibility, it could be your phone.

I don't have any problems with my Blackberry Storm.

Ive been having problems with bluetooth connection also. I managed to connect a Nokia 2700 very easily but when I come to connect a Nokia 6303 it pairs OK but keeps failing to connect. I've put it down to compatability issue as annoying as it is. I did manage to get a connection with the 6303 by holding down the button on the console for approx. 5 seconds but no luck since.

Hi CJ

Yes I have checked that, it is set to"auto cumminicate with the Zed", I think I will have to play the elimination game,

Further to your post, I tried switching the bluetooth off on the phone and back on again and hey presto it worked. It would appear that in your cry for help you've actually helped me so thank you.

Great Stuff,, and with regard to mine,,

Well I started from scratch, deleted the pairing etc, switched the bluetooth off on the phone etc, re paired it and,,,,, its working

I have just been through all this with my iPhone, it now connects and works fine, all my contacts copied across, but if I add a new contact do I need to re-pair my phone to get the phone book to update or will the car add the new contact to the book next time it logs on.

confused as always?

no it will auto update to car,

The pairing should be straightfoward (unlike mine), as its just bluetooth, whether it will work depends on the software you have loaded, most Blackberry phones work fine.

Shoot. My pairing has failed, dang it. I've tried a few times. Guess I'll try turning off the phone with the car switch on. The phone can find the car, but the car can't find the phone. grrrrrrrrr :x

have you tried switching the bluetooth off on your phone then back on again, then find paired devices on your phone and try pairing, thats what worked for me

I'll give it another go this afternoon. What makes me most angry was it was so easy to pair it in the first place, but now the darned thing doesn't want to work. I've deleted the settings and made the phone re-find the car, but car never stops flashing "activate phone". :headbang:

RustyZ4, switching off the bluetooth on the phone (after pushing the R/T button on the steering wheel) then turning it back on once the car was flashing "activate phone" worked like a charm! Thanks. :driving:

Great stuff, the only thing I found for some reason is every once in a while I have to re pair it, I put it down to sometimes when I drive the van, I pair it to a bluetotth headset, and the phone has a wobbly when I get in the car, but it only takes a minute to do.
