Bluetooth music.

So, I can plug my iPhone 6s into the the USB port in the centre console and stream Amazon music to the speakers. I can't seem to do the same over bluetooth. If I go into media via iDrive and can see bluetooth and there is an icon for phone calls but for music it is greyed out. Does anyone know how to get this working? I am wondering if a s/w upgrade is needed, though I haven't checked what level my car is on yet. Any help would be appreciated. tbh I don't listen to much music in car much but I'm a bit of a gadget man so I like to get everything working. I did manage to listen to On Days like these by Matt Monroe today while testing out sport mode on Norfolk roads today. :D

I think you need an additional Bluetooth option from the factory for music streaming, if you do a search there was a recent post on the subject

Thanks Chippie, I assume it doesn't work for you either?
On the contrary mine worked straight away, I didn’t realise people were having problems until I read several posts

Ha Ha - aced it. Performed a s/w update over the air. A new option enabled me to configure my iPhone. All works now!!
