Bluetooth Music Streaming (from the ipod connection)

Seen it posted by a few members using a bluetooth dongle to connect to the factory ipod cable and use that to stream music to the OEM stereo so thought I'd get one and try...

Disconnected the ipod, and plugged the dongle in picked up straight away by my phone and bonus, it will let me have both this and the cars built in Bluetooth handsfree connected simultaneously

But then a problem, I go to switch the stereo to ipod mode and start the bluetooth playback from my phone and get an error message "no magazine"

Anyone using the same set up have an idea what I'm doing wrong?

Anyone can help here??

Willing to buy a different dongle just want to be able to stream music over Bluetooth to the ipod connection...

definitely folk on here doing it as that's where I got the idea

I've tried it and couldn't get it to work. As far as I understand, it's not possible. Very happy to be proven wrong though :P

I use a thingy that plugs into phone speaker jack on I pod and transmits to a radio frequency. Tune the radio to that frequency and that’s it

You need to have the intermediate voltage stepdown dongle sitting between ur bt dongle and the ipod connector.

I have a BT receiver with a simple 30 pin female socket ,no other cables or pins or sockets
It plugs directly into the OEM iPod connection cable and plays through the Multi changer CD setting
Unfortunately the unit has no branding on it what so ever Just a tiny blue and red leds in body and activated by pressing the body
I have trawled through my Amazon orders online but cannot trace it for identification
When paired with my iPhone it has the signature BT4811
and certainly streams from iPhone into the Radio when on the CD multi changer setting

Thanks guys I actually did use the Stepdown adapter and it pairs fine but still just shows as no magazine... Maybe it's because I'm using an android phone it won't work  no way I'm changing to Apple though

I use an Android phone with that setup as above. Xiaomi Redmi 4X as well as a pre-release HibyR6 DAP and have no problemos.
What about trying a different BT dongle then?
Theyre as cheap as chips....
