If you look in your Bluetooth manual - a small book with the main manual, there should be a bit of card in there with it on.

hi , thanks for the answer , i could only find a "full preparation package mobile phone " and its not in it ..,in the big case there is a bmw little card but only with sos and maintence information ..

Then lift the carpet in the boot where the ULF is and read it off the side, where it will be on a 1" detachable label and repeated in smaller print on the label. looking for a 4 digit number

Here is an example of a ULF for sale on Ebay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-ULF-BLUET...39:1|66:2|65:12|240:1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
Note the number 7060 is printed on the tab at the end and dead centre of the label

It's located in the boot, LHS of the rear firewall (vertical behind the passenger seat) under the rectangular bulge in the carpet.

Yes - Mikedav is correct the dealer can look up the number but IIRC only by hooking the car up, not from their records system so there is likely a charge

I didn't have mine either. I took mine to a dealer and they locate it using a laptop. Took around 10 min inc pairing my phone for me. No cost.

Almost made it... I would actually just pull the 3 bolts that hold the ULF cradle to the firewall. I think they are 10mm. Really quick and then you can rotate the ULF to read the code.

If it's getting to troublesome then the dealer has been suggested

well i got it !
thanks alot for the help !

now i have another little problem -
the system is loading the phone book and i can see all the numbers on the radio display dial and so on but when i want to oparate the voice control it says that the phone book is empty ...
any one have any idea why ?
thanks in advance

Glad you got there.

There are numerous compatibility problems between phones and the ULF and very few work fully (not transferring address books, etc.) so that's probably at the root of it. However if you've actually managed to transfer the address book and it's all visible and you can select and dial anumbers from it then it should work.

Are other commands working correctly?

hamm nop ..i understand that the commands possibole are "dial" "read phone book" "delete phone book" , commands for the phone only (or is it for the cd/cdc/radio as well ?)
and non of the commands are working ..the car is responding with "phone book is empty" to every command ..

Silly question but are you have the voice control option?

mine doesnt :(

yap ..the car does speak and get the command when i speak back but says the phonebook is empty ..which is not ..

dont worry its just a nice gimic , the car is the most important :)

Agreed

Would solve the scrolling issue with the one line display on the radio though. Not that big a deal for me as I would only ever call about 3 numbers from the car and I organised me phone book so those appear first :)

Mine certainly has listed in the guide a whole swathe of commands from help, navigation, route map, notepad, etc. Don't think it can control any audio and it's not listed

yes , the commands are for phone and nav i have no nav so only phone for me ..
