Bluetooth Issues

Hi all,

I recently picked up a 2010 Z4 E89 23i sDrive 2.5. I have tried to connect my phone to the bluetooth but with no luck.

I followed the manual and have had a look online but they all show extra options on the BMW professional radio (when you click 'menu'), that I don't have. I only have the option to select 'Computer' or 'Config'. I thought bluetooth was standard?

I decoded my VIN and it says that I have the bluetooth prep options and I have all the buttons for handling phone calls. Is there anything else that I need on top of this to make the bluetooth work?

Happy to answer any further questions to get to the bottom of this.

My original brochure shows these as options:
– Mobile phone preparation Business with Bluetooth interface, telematics-compatible
– Mobile phone preparation with Bluetooth interface

The manual I have only refers to configuring Bluetooth via the iDrive - do you have this?

A BMW dealership should be able to take the key and print out a list of all fitted options.

I had a 2009 e89 with no iDrive and Bluetooth was an extra. If you don't see the Telephone option under the menu alongside config etc, it sounds like you don't have Bluetooth. Bluetooth only became standard around LCI time (2012).
