Bluetooth issue - Caller can hear me but I can't hear them?

Hi all,

Am rather new to the forum as only bought my first Z4 this weekend. I have an E86 Coupe with the bluetooth factory kit. I've been able to pair my iPhone 5S without issue, the directory works and I can answer/make calls with the steering wheel controls. However, although others say they can hear me completely clearly on the phone, I cannot hear anything from them and am unaware as to how I can increase the volume.. Does anybody know why/of a solution?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

This used to happen to me. I had to make sure that the Bluetooth system was being used as the output device. It was defaulting to the iPhone.

If connected it'll give you a dialogue allowing you to choose which device to output the sound from.

Worth a punt
 
The phone's output was set to the BMW during the call? If I selected iPhone or "speaker" then I could hear them fine but through the phone rather than through the car?
