Hey guys,

I'm revisitting my previous attempts to get bluetooth working on the Z now I have a new phone. I had no success last time btw.

After reading around and looking at the videos on youtube I always see reference to the radio (standard business model no satnav) displaying "bt pairing". Should this be displayed on all variants? I cant even get it to go this far!

It is totally annoying. I pretty sure I being daft as this should be really simple. Has anyone else successfully paired a HTC mobile phone? Specifically I attempting to pair a Diamond but had no success withthe MV3100, another HTC phone I had previously. :headbang:

Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

I may even take a " Dont bothers its not worth it" as this stage :headbang:
 
well my 07 z4m is succesfully paired and working with my HTC diamond, the syc contacts everythink, signal inducator, its perfect, in facts its the phone thats worked the best with mine. i think you may have a blue tooth module issue.

Ooo thats interesting. Now the question is am i doing something wrong or is it infact a faulty module. Investigation time. I thank you for your reply.
 
Just tried. Cannot get any sign on pairing coming up on the display. When I have ignition at 1 and press R/T i can get the display to show "Tel" followed by "send/end" options buts thats the nearest I can see to anything that relates to the phone elements.

I dont suppose it is possible to have the buttoms on the steering wheel but the function is not properly prepared is it? I was sold the car on the basis it has full bluetooth functionality so back to dealer I think.

I would be grateful for anymore suggestions in the mean time. I think my Sunday will be taken up figuring it out. Oh and Chelsea v Liverpool!
 
you need to find the pairing button before you get it to see BT Pairing. I cant remember the exact way but unless you've pressed it it won't start the process.

Have you found the BMW unit from the fone?

I've got the pairing button, atleast the one that matches the literature that came with the car. Isnt it just the one on the steering wheel? Little face with speach lines out of it? The literature that came with the car says the one above the storage compartment that appears to have the same symbol. I cannot find any other similar button anywhere in the car so I think I have the correct one.

The phone cannot see the device which I think must mean that something must be wrong with the unit in the car. Surely even without it being paired it must be giving off some kind of signal that the phone would see, even if it couldnt actually connect.

Signal indicator?

I have it working fine with my XDA Orbit 2 (HTC) with the help of JETware.
 
Ok. Can you give me the location of the "pairing" button you each used to connect? I have searched all over and all I can see are the ones on the steering wheel, one with R/T and one with the "talking" face.

I have also tried http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Content/Owner/ExpertTips/PairYourBluetooth/HowtoPair.aspx which suggests no pressing of buttons is required and neither work. Phone will not find anything.

Beedub - could you possibly have a quick look through your bluetooth settings on your mobile and let me know whether you had to change settings or anything in order for it to work? As you can gather I am having no luck.
 
Isn't the pairing button where the phone cradele fits - open the storage space behind you in the centre.

Btw, on my Nokia you have 'make sim visible' in Bluetooth settings if that's any help
 
I am a Man U fan so I would appreciate a 6 nil to liverpool with Gerrard getting the remaining 5 to assist my failing fantasy football team! :wink:
 
infact further to that I think I would actually prefer 6 all with Deco getting chelsea's goals!

However I will settle for a 3 - 3 and a dam good game. I dont see Liverpool keeping them out.

My pairing button is in front of the phone cradle inside the storage compartment lid. You may not have bluetooth, my 330 has all the steering wheel buttons but is not fitted with a bluetooth module.
 
I think I will have to take the carpet out in the boot and check for sure. Not looking forward to that though.
