Hi Guys
my Z seems to be pre-vired for bluetooth, dont think the module is in the car. I'm not sure where to look for it. if I don't have the module, where to find one and is it worth the effort?
are there other option. would love to be able o stream music.

By the way, my steering wheel does not have any buttons.

The factory BT won't stream music, you can get an adaptor that plugs in instead of the CD changer and you can then stream music

Hi, could you post a link to the adaptor you are referring to?

Thanks Markplant
if I do not have the module, can i purchase a newer module and install that will stream music? or is it my "radio system" that will not accept it?
Would like to hear more about the adaptor that will work.

Many are available

Just find out if your car had round pins or straight

The e85, will not stream music even with the correct BMW module, it was calls only, I don't believe there is a newer module that will

If your car has bluetooth, it should also have the small microphone on top of the steering column shroud, directly behind the steering wheel. The fact that you don't have buttons on the wheel doesn't bode well for it having BT though I seem to remember.

I Parrot CK3000 to mine, the one without a display, so only the remote is visible. This allows me to stream music from my phone too, and as I have the Carver DSP 10 speaker system in mine, I've wired it into the line leve feeds to the system, so it uses the car's amp and volume controls rather than the puny amp in the parrot. Cost was less than £100 all in, including the required SOT lead.

Not sure if German cars are pre wired. This link might help though as if it’s is there should be a sticker/badge somewhere
