Bluetooth Audio

My zed came with the OEM BMW iPod connection, which obviously had the old connection. I found it a pain to keep using an adapter (needed to remove case), putting my phone in the glove box etc.

So I invested in one of these and it works a treat;

Cant believe I didn't do it sooner!

Thats look good! I bought an ipod nano for car use but not got round to putting any music on it yet so this could be a better option

Do you have the factory Bluetooth for calls? Just wondering if the phone could be connected to both of the cars Bluetooth devices at the same time?

Have you looked into an audiovox media bridge?

As I fitted one due to no use of 6stacker causing lock up of the discs
So removed wires for rear, popped in the media bridge. Wired it all the way to the front rear of centre console and all I have now is a small black iPhone lead that charges and plays all my music and appears on the sat nav screen and controlled by the multi buttons :)
£90 unit I think

Ps I find blue tooth kills quality but yours may be ok

Do you get track names on the nav screen with the media bridge ... I have factory ipod and that is the only thing that bugs me about it

No tracks just a simple and cheep way that solved a problem for myself.

Sound quality is good enough for in car audio, especially with the roof down.

That you do buddy, I have pro sound /sat nav and Bluetooth phone options fitted so don't use function on the bridge, but it comes with Bluetooth for calls/music/sd card /and 2 USB ports

So I simply have a black USB to lighten in adapter and I have now only got 6 inches of black lead at the front by ash tray showing :)

Yeah I've got Bluetooth built in too so literally would just be buying it to get track names. Need to decide if it's worth the cost and probably more the effort to fit it

Doesn't take long to fit, and happy to walk you through it as its a doddle
My only cock up was pulling release in boot!

Before my electric steering failed i had a top of the range pioneer head unit fitted with DAB, bluetooth, the lot. You cant fault pioneer for sound quality ive found over the years that by simply upgrading the head unit has made a huge difference. I also had to replace the carver dsp amp with an alpine amp. Crossovers and new wiring. Unfortunately ive not been able to test it yet as it was fitted when i went abroad and when i came back the car has been at the garage since. Hopefully picking it up on thursday. Ill report back once ive bedded it all in.

Im a bit of an audiophile. Got a range of headphones with seperate dac and amp. Monitor audio home cinema setup. So my setup in the car wasnt cheap but im planning on getting good use out of it.

Sonny, what have you done with your old amp and bits? I may possibly have to replace mine as it's fine on the fritz, will be investigating later..
