Bluetooth audio problem

Recently I've changed my phone for a htc one, and now bluetooth hands free option is useless - the sound is very quiet, almost impossible to hear over higher revs.
Before this phone i also had an android htc (sensation) and had no problems with it.
it is probably a problem with new generation bluetooth driver in android 4.2 so my question is if any of you have this problem?
probably upgrading bluetooth firmware would be a solution but i dont know how it should be done, considering i do.t have a satnav unit, only proffessional radio with bluetooth and mfsw.

any ideas?

Also chaps with other android phones should report whether bluetooth works fine or not

I think that al samsung, htc, sony and LG phones using android 4.2 have the same problem
 
Well I have an S3 running custom firmware (4.3.1) and now my phone connects for about 20 second then disconnects, think it was something in an upgrade from 4.1 to 4.3. Still playing around with versions to figure it out. Also think the version of BT in the car is relevant, I have a 2005 build.
