No it's pretty much for music streaming only.

Did a quick dig and the same seller does one on eBay with the mic 👍

Just bought one.

Good price too  . Hope the lead is long enough for the mic. Guess you'll go along the centre console to the dashboard somewhere?
How would you get the wire from inside the boot to a sensible place? I'd assume you'd want to mount it at the top of the A-Pillar?

That's exactly what I had previously. It works but you have to keep it charged & switch it on each time to use it. Also there's no easy way to skip tracks etc. I only used the hands free mobile option a couple of times. It did work but wasn't great, particularly in a Roadster. My aux in socket is under the heating controls so the mic was a bit too far away to be ideal. Decent cheap option though.

CD changer is in the centre console isn’t it?

There's buttons on mine that allow you to skip tracks if you want. I just stick Spotify on and let it play.

Yep mine had those buttons too. Problem is reaching down to them in my car due to the position wasn't a particularly safe thing to do :o . The beauty of the bluetooth adapter is that I can change tracks using the head unit or my soon to be installed mfsw 8)

When I fitted the unit it went on the connections on the back of the unit in the boot. Can you run a cable through the console, past the changer?

Hi guys,

Newbie here having just acquired an e85 yesterday :)

Already done a few mods after browsing this site for info and so will create a newbie post ASAP, but I’ve also just installed this exact adapter in my 09 reg e85 which has nav but didn’t have the CD changer - it works streaming wise brilliantly, and I can turn the volume up and down from the steering wheel, but when trying to change tracks (using Spotify with more than one song in a playlist or Apple Music with more than one song also on my iPhone) nothing happens - I’ve tried selecting 1-6 CD slot and changing tracks but the same song keeps playing - I also have OEM Bluetooth and the upgraded Hi-Fi and if I try to make a call it switches fine, and as soon as I drop the call it carries on playing Bluetooth...

I’ve read some reviews where the track change works and they’ve specified they have an Android phone - is it an iPhone issue?

Thanks

Quoting myself here in case anyone else has the same issue - the seller sent me a replacement which now works with the skip buttons on the stereo and and steering wheel :D

Interested in this.
Which unit option is needed to allow volume and track skipping from the wheel on a car without a multi-CD changer? Plus integration with oem mic?

This is the one that allows streaming and track skipping from the MFSW but if the OEM mic is used it just cuts the music playing

Thanks
Just looking at how to access the connectors in the coupe now. Looks involving

If it’s the same as the roadster which I’m sure it is it’s a 5 minute job 😎
 Don’t suppose you have a link to a decent how-to? From what I’ve seen it’s rear plastic trim back and sides, then clips and carpets.

Hi all,

I have the mic version and while the calls work well when I stream something from my phone it is so quiet it is almost not worth having. I have checked my phone and there isn't anything obvious I have missed. I have tried turning the Bluetooth and music volume right up with no difference.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I know you’re saying you checked the phone but I recall a hidden/secret menu on one of my kids phones restricting output no matter what the volume was set at. It was something like parental control to try and stop kids blowing their ears out with headphones particularly, might be worth a try if you don’t already know about this

Thanks great advice.

Got to the bottom of it. It appears it is linked to a Android update on 9 or newer.
If you enable developer mode then turn "Bluetooth absolute volume" on it works normally.
