to any of you folks out there that might be interested.i have just been down to the blueflame factory so they could use my z to develop a cat back full stainless perfomance exhaust system.i drove it back home with the system fitted and it is absolutely top notch.it hasn't produced any flat spots at all or any glitches.the throttle response is better as are the performance levels.we were real impressed by the sound too,not too loud but really brings out the depth and tone of the 6cyl motor. :D i will put a couple o pics on over the weekend so you can see it on my car.anyone thats interested have a look on blueflame's website.they are a real nice bunch of people and very eager to help.

No pics on their website... yet...

£395 doesn't sound too bad vs the Milltek which seems more expensive for a cat-back system, which is also imho, a bit too loud and bassy still.

I am interested in the end result, so looking forward to your pics and maybe a nice audio clip :)

Cheers

Dave

here are some pics and a couple of vids o the exhaust.sorry for the dirty car but it rained on the way home n i cant clean it cos its still raining.aaaaahhhhhh :headbang: http://s805.photobucket.com/albums/yy338/bigcoose/?action=view&current=blueflamevid1.flv http://s805.photobucket.com/albums/yy338/bigcoose/?action=view&current=blueflamevid2.flv http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/yy338/bigcoose/blueflameexhaust1.jpg http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/yy338/bigcoose/blueflameexhaust2.jpg http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/yy338/bigcoose/blueflameexhaust3.jpg http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/yy338/bigcoose/blueflameexhaust4.jpg .if you would like any more vids or pics please ask

i had a blueflame on my tt in my opinion a far superior item than the milltek item much better designed for lowered cars no huge back box ! just wish they did one for an ///M :poke:

So hard to tell in videos.

I just don't get why we can't get a sound like an old 90's Golf VR6 or something... there is something about the BMW system that makes it massively mellow and bassy, and loses all it's rasp :(

Eisenmann would disagree. ;) They make everything sound good. Pick RACE option to make very loud if you must.

Is it just the backbox? From where you have the u-clamps it looks like it.

That actually sounds a lot like mine does, a bit more bassy and enough to turn a head in a quiet carpark.

it may be because the z is a straight 6 and the golf vr6 was a v6.my friends alfa is a v6 and with his performance exhaust on it does sound different to my z.the z sounds similar 2 a 911 with a noisy exhaust on.there were some on the rac rally yesterday so i got a good comparison :D

Just watched Top Gear and those clowns in their GT supercars... if this can do for my Z4 what the carbon twin-port did for my GSXR600 - I really want!

That does indeed sound very nice indeed. Nice M style twin back box style too.

you can find out from capristo.de how much it would be. You can really tell the diff between standard and non stanard. I think it opesn some valves or whatever, because it's cool that it's controllwed on the go. I like the loudest one obviously. :)

Well, the VR6 is more straight 6 than V6 really :)

But you get my point, the Z4's sound is almost tuned into one boomy bassline, I would prefer to hear each stroke going boom out down the exhaust with a nice raspy note to it (not really loud, just more definition to it)

I think it would be cool if CJ posted a video of his setup with the sound...

I wonder if that cross-over box is what makes it sound so mellow!?
