Bloody annoying alarm !

As mentioned previously by myself & others :x every so often the car alarm triggers for no apparent reason .
just parked up & not got 100 yards away from it & off it went , did it again after resetting but not after i disconnected the under bonnet switch which is seen as the usual culprit .
Car due in at my techie for MOT on 10th dec . is it ok to leave the switch disconnected until then ?

cheers , wasn't concerned about the MOT . more that it was ok to leave disconnected . will get it sorted when it goes in for MOT but its a major hassle dropping car off at garage when mon/fri i go 1hr 15mins in the opposite direction .
car lives in garage with alarm off but am away for the weekend in it next friday
 
After the same issues I've had mine disconnected for at least 9 months :oops: just one of those simple jobs I've never got around to sorting out :D

^^^ what he said, left mine off for a few days, no issues. As long as no-ones after your engine :) not an ///M is it, Bings lusting after one that he could sneak past his other half, and engine transplant might be on his options list.... ;)

Had similar issues. Checked switch and was operating repeatedly ok. Fault seems to reoccur when I have opened the bonnet. The switch displaces slightly from its position after a few bonnet lifts. Now before closing, I just check the switch is in correct seated position and since I have done this I have had no further problems.

Thanks for info . i do have bonnet unlatched during week with trickle charger on but alarm off . :?
maybe i should remove myself from the "where are we" map ? :D damm that Stuart truman

Update / as of now the car is in garage with our 4 doberman,s & we also let our collection of snakes & exotic spiders sleep in the car :wink:
 
Had same problem with mine,changed the bonnet switch,problem still there.Checked out by an indie;fault is the "front interior sensor",
dissarmed this by,"locking the car with remote,and then repress the remote once more,this dissables the sensor.No More Problems :D New sensor £109.00 plus fitting,Approx;£90.00.Disconnect sensor £70.00 :cry:
