Blizzaks Incoming!

I feel a bit silly about posting this, but at the same time just excited enough to post it anyway.

So yeah, after being frustrated by limited Z4 use due to way too much snow last year, I have gone ahead and ordered a set of used BMW rims (in nice condition) with brand new Bridgestone Blizzak Revo 2 tires on 'em.

The rims are plain old star spoke 200s, and I'm dropping down an inch from 18" for my regulars to 17" for the winters. That ought to keep me on the road, which of course is the point. Quite happy about that. :)

So there, now I've gone and made a knob of myself by crowing about having bought a set of winter tires. So be it.

No you haven't! Well done, means you can keep driving your zed in most weathers. :driving:
If I hadn't got my Freelander I would've done the same as you.

Last year used my freelander to clear the close in which we live of snow, then got in the Z4! Only car moving in the close was my Freelander lol :D

The 3.0 E85 Z4 is the only car I've got stuck in snow, the Bridgestone RFT's and open diff meant it was laughably bad at finding grip to get going should you stop. Also managed to slide backwards down a hill I was crawling up in 1st gear - very lucky nobody was behind :(

Hope the Blizzacks work well, keep us updated :)

had the Blizzacks on a 5 series X 18inch & they were faultless on ice, snow or rain  you won,t be disappointed :)

They shipped yesterday so should be arriving today!
If things go as planned I'll have them on the car over the weekend ... and just in time too!

Thanks for the positive feedback. I never thought I'd be stoked about getting new tires, but I am. :)

Got em! And they're on!
This is the first time I've had non-runflats on the car and, as expected, the ride is transformed.
Much, much nicer.

Grungy, brake-dust laden ellipsoids (Bridgestone Potenza runflats) on the car with shiny clean 200's (Bridgestone Blizzak Revo 2) ready to go.

Not too difficult with the right tools. And they even look OK. It'll do for the winter months. :)
