Blimey that's an odd colour combo

Outside yes, inside yes. The two together  Horrid combo.
I think black and PY is the only combination that works because it matches the roof.

Agreed, whoever thought this combo would work.....well they be wrong!

A few years back when I was running and buying new VW’s regularly I got quite friendly with the dealer

I was in ordering a new golf gti and sat in the showroom was a GTI in fluorescent green with a very light almost white interior ... it was gopping

I was told there was the deal of the century on it .. I politely declined

I asked why they had one that colour/combo and he basically said they’d f’ked up

He said VW allocate their dealers quarterly stock cars in random/colours and specs

They then had to go into the system and manually change the spec to what they wanted before it locked for production.... this one was missed and went confirmed with their name on it

Really?! That's bizarre

I would have thought the more sensible option would be to allocate majority of stock with the standard colours and trims and then the dealer would manually change the spec on say half a dozen to 'spec them up' so to speak, with sporty and tech extras. So that then they have majority that can be easily sold as unoffensive and then some that are 'exclusive' for more discerning customers. That way they avoid having some absolute lemons that no-one would buy in a month of Sundays and they can't shift!

It was 20 years ago so I imagine the system is better now

I think most probably were silver with black but the odd weird one slipped in

He also stated they had got stiffed with some petrol Passats which were a harder ell than ice to Eskimo’s
