Bleeding Brakes

Replaced off side front caliper last weekend and when bleeding it noticed fluid in system was looking dark and discoloured.
If I was to replace brake fluid by bleeding each caliper until new fluid from resorvoir was coming through, would it cause an issue with ABS?
I would obviously ensure resorvoir was kept topped up so no air could enter system. Would this procedure ensure that all fluid is replaced?

No problem with bleeding through all the fluid. That is the correct way to replace the fluid every couple of years. As you know, just keep it topped off whilst bleeding.

I use a vacuum bleeder to do mine. It makes the whole job a lot easier and avoids running the master cylinder seals past their normal travel over any dirt or ridge on the cylinder surface.

You can suck the majority of the old fluid out with a turkey baster or syringe and give the reservoir a quick clean with a cloth before starting. Sometimes there is a bit of sediment at the bottom.
