Blacked out Exhaust Tips!

As you can see from the pic below, my exhaust tips looked a little tired. Instead of polishing them up i have decided to go for a different look/finish.

During spray up with Stove Plastikote. This stuff is great, once cured with heat, it is rock solid and is heat proof up to 425degC. Did my grills with this stuff, no chips so far! Leaves a nice satin finish too:

Pretty pleased with the finish, going to cure the paint for another 24 hours, installed pics to follow!!
 
They look pretty good - can't wait for the fitted pics :thumbsup:

I want I get mine re-chromed, but I have no idea how much it costs so will be getting a quote soon...
 
Might do this on mine to go with the black grills and wheels, look forward to seeing installed pics.

I don't want to change the tips though, just get them spiffy again. I shall ask the Metal Boss what he can do 8)
 
Good job and different ap123ap, often wondered what the tips would look like painted, however it’s not for me as I prefer my tips polished and shiny

Not sure what the question is so i will give 2 possible answers!

I got them from ebay.

I get on okay with them in the uk; had the police behind me a few times now with no problems.

I dont know what happened there? It was supposed to say how do you get on with them in the uk?

Yes its illegal font though, it should have UK/GB on and they are pressed. For some reason i cant see why they would be illegal. They are easier to read then some plates i have seen.

I want a pair, i just know i will get the police officer with the eagle eyes on
 
As much as I am for euro plates, they're unfortunately illegal.

I've run with a set a few times and then started seeing a few too many anpr patrol vehicles around so I thought I'd be safe.

Back on topic, the exhaust tips look fantastic! Any plans to give the same treatment to the z4 badge?
 
Think you did a great job on the tips! To me though they look a little lost in the bumper, especially with a black car. Looks smart though :thumbsup:
