Black Z4M wheels - Yay or Nay?

Rim tape will not go on M wheels as there are no flat surfaces on the edge of the rim. Al do em wi some alfords rattle cans in your garden for u no charge mate.
 
That was the sort of idea.. Think that on gloss black m wheels would like a bit bleedin gorgeous :wub: :trampoline:
 
The yellow would look fantastic with your seats.. If you can't paint the edge yellow you can buy coloured rim protectors which press between tyre and wheel, also great for white when the snow covers the curb!

I reckon the shadow chrome would look great, especially if you've got another set of wheel for the summer, means you can have 2 different looks as opposed to 2 very similar looks... :?
 
A bit OTT for winter wheels? They are more likely to get scuffed and kerbed, and a coloured wheel with a nasty bit of silver rash looks worse than a silver wheel. Keep it cheap!
 
I think I agree with Guiseley's point re scuffing though I do like the Shadow Chrome which is looking very modern (though might get too popular) -I 'm thinking of having my Ellpsoid 107s done in this finish - I might copy your poll idea if you don't mind - apologies for potential thread hijack. The black yellow combo would be very cool too if you're brave enough.

I think it would look pretty cool to be honest with the yellow rim.. Never seen or heard of these rim protectors. Don't suppose you have any idea where you canget them from?

That's the reason Im not so keen on the standard finish. I think the standard finish looks a little boring. I think I want something that looks completely different from my summer setup.

I think they look great in black. Darren Slone one of the guys on here kindly sent me some pics of his MR with matt black M wheels and it looks awesome. Shadow chrome is a really nice look though. Hmmm. I used to be indecisive but now I'm not so sure :headbang:

I know what you mean Guiseley... Would be a pitta if they got kerbed. Wonder how easy it would be to paint them myself in black. At least if they get kerbed then I can whip a wheel off and refurb it with some liquid metal and re-paint it?? Wouldnt be such an expensive job then??

No problem.. I did this with my summer wheels aswell although in the end I didnt pay any attention to the results and just did what I wanted to anyway lol.. It's a good way of gauging thoughts though :thumbsup:

Oh I'm brave enough.. Just not sure if I can get the rim tape to work on the M alloys as Bummjoyrider said there is no real flat edge to work with?
 
If you're going to do it, go with a light shadow chrome, like with my CSLs. That way it won't be too dark, but still gives you a different (and shiny) look.
