Black wire sticking out by front screen?

Hi,

I was just replacing my tax disc and noticed a small loose black wire sticking out of the dash by the front screen, about 2cm long.

Can anyone tell me what it is for and what i should do about it?

It is a wire, I can move it slighty and hear it behind the dash. I guess it could be from something the previous owner had installed?

I just wondered if it should be connected to the screen for some reason?
 
Dont think any wires for the rear view mirror and auto lights/windscreen would run up the pillar on there own, they would be bundled up.

I would check for 12v with ignition on, as you say previous owner must have had a device connected and took quick option when removing.
 
Looks like the wire going to a mobile phone kit aerial - the ones that double up as tax disc holders.

Does your car have any other evidence of having had a phone kit fitted?

the tax disk or small blade type aerial was my only thought as well, but if all works then I would just hide the wire again until doing any work in that area of the car when it could then be investigated.
