Stuart, would these bolt straight in to a facelift that currently has unheated manual seats?
Any wiring needed for the adjustment stuff?

If they are an easy fit I'll have those please.

If you *happen* to be coming to the west country *and* EZ doesn't want them.......

Well, I'm ever hopeful!

If you want to have a look yourself you need the 3 wires on the arrow end of the connector. 2 big ones for power and the 3rd small one for memory.

If you don't then you need to run a 12v positive and negative wire and don't worry about the memory. I should* have some connectors etc coming my way.

Go on then. I’ll take them and enlist the seat guru from Wymondham to assist 👍🏻

Are you swapping bases with your current seats, basically using these to electrify for current seats?

If not then I have a set of electric non heated in my lock up with much better leathers than these.

Be more than happy to swap as I'm only going to use mine for spares.

Thanks Rob. Did the deal with Stuart as I just need better ones in my daily car. Once I get them here could you assist with any wiring changes to fit them?

Rob, I've just re-read this post of yours. I initially thought you meant buy yours instead of Stuart's.
Do you actually mean you'll straight swap with yours which are the same?
If so, how could I refuse?
I am also likely to need your assistance with plugs/wiring, as mine appear to have hardly any wires in that plug.
You are also welcome to take the old ones, which are manual/unheated and I'm only changing as the seatbelt guides are broken.

I did ponder why you refused
Yes I will swap mine with Stuarts when he drops them off to you
I will get pictures of mine on Thursday to refresh my memory on their condition and to show you.
If the weather wasn't awful this weekend I would bring them back with me on Thursday so we could fit them Saturday/Sunday.

Yes I'll help with the wiring and had a plan of action so did a little reading and why say what I had thought when somebody has already written it

I don't know what all you have installed on your '05, but on my '06 the plugs were there (without the electrical connector pins or wiring) at both the seat and fusebox connectors. The fusebox contained the 30 amp fuses for the two power seat circuits (fuses 15 and 29). I ran new 12ga. wire adjacent to the existing seat harnesses for the power and ground (earth), and an 18ga. memory (K-bus) wire from the driver seat. The new wiring was tied to to the existing harness.

I ran the grounds (earths) to the factory ground junctions behind the kickpanel covers (same as OEM), and the power wires to the fusebox plug. I soldered BMW connectors to the wires, which clicked into the open cavities in the factory plugs at the seat and fusebox connectors - same part for all the power wires, with a small pin connector and pigtail used for the K bus seat connector. The other end of the 'K bus' wire I soldered to a K bus join inside the 'stump' of wires that extends from the main harness behind the glovebox/fusebox area. The BMW wiring diagram shows a 'fan connector' for the K bus joins in that area, but in my car at least all the joins were done inside that wire bundle that branches off the main harness.

It's a little bit of work to run everything this way (especially dismantling the glovebox and surrounding components to access the fusebox plug), but it looks and works like OEM. Parts cost was minimal - a little bit of wire and some inexpensive connectors. Good luck with your project ...

I have 4 of the large spades connectors from the e89 seats and these should fit

Stuart do you have wire you can send with the seats? We need to reach from fuse box to the connector under seat. Don't think we will worry about the memory wire unless you want it Martin?

Wondering whether we should pop some wiring in for heated seats for a later date just in case

Next time you have a breaker Martin we should pull some loom out. Always handy to have wiring.
