Black Plastic Hoop Covers - part #s ?

Does anyone know the part #s for the Black Hoop Covers found on the Z4M Roadsters "without" extended leather?

I have tried my dealer's parts dept. He checked the computer out front and in the back - no listing for Black "Schwarz".

I looked up Real OEM E85 M3.2 below -

BMW059Hoops700.jpg

These are the only referances to plastic - no "Schwarz"? All other references on this page had to do with leather covered.
Any help will be appreciated!

Are you sure that there is any black?

Thanks, I couldn't bring up your link but what you say is my problem. The part does not exist on official or un-official parts lists in black. I know it exists though as a part because it was on my 06 Z4MR that I leased for 18 months.

Thanks for trying!

Why dont you just spray the existing or new one black.

Since I just bought this, my lease car for the last 30 months, I am no longer held back from doing material changes that can't be reversed. So painting is now one of my options. But I have noticed the inside of my soft top touching the top of the hoop as the top goes up and down. No damage to the top, no warranty issue. Just the chance the paint might rub off.

knowing that a correct black plastic cover exists makes me want to do it right before I paint. That number is out there. If I still had my 06Z4MR I would pull a cover and check for a number!

I found the above thread when I did searchs (here and four other forums!). He did a nice job and looks "right" with his color car.

Thanks for your help!

I think this is where we should check (M section):

There are a couple of blacks either leather-cover or just cover.

Check if its the one you are looking for...

P/Ns: leather schwarz cover left/right: 51438040425/6
coverings: 51438040735/6 ,..........7/8 or 51438040427/8

PS: the site i am using (www.bmwfans.info) is better updated than realoem

I am after black covers and my friend who works at a BMW stealers is saying that the parts Dept cannot find the black covers so i would also love to get hold of a part number.

That's what I experienced at my Dealer and they really put out an effort searching. They suggested that they all had leather until I took them out in the showroom and they saw that the Z4MR they had, non-extended leather, was black plastic.

The only other way, without giving up and painting, is to remove a black plastic cover and look for a number.

Thanks for confirming that I am not crazy!

Jack, Just looked again. Ours is black plastic! Check with some of those HC guys that live in Greenville. They might have factory contacts.
