Black & Orange (II)

Hi OP
just looking at your stunning car with interest .
I’ve played with a few black changes myself this year .
Black/chrome wheels, black mirror caps black /chrome front grills. Will do the roll over covers black next spring. I also did the front lower grills gloss black, just thought you might want to see how it turned out , think it might go quit well as an option with your setup, let me know what you think 8D546B2E-8DDE-4F0F-9E88-26B24758D0D1.png

It used to drive me crazy how those lower grills always look dirty no matter how much you clean them . So happy I did them now . Still thinking about the chrome side indicators too
Not sure if I will or won’t 😬

Did you paint the lower grills gloss black? I'm not sure how durable it would be. Also, did you remove the grills or do them in situ? Let's see a side pic with your wheels!

Yes , gloss black but with primer for plastic first . I’m in work but I’ll get the paint name this evening and post it on here it’s had about 9 months or so of wear and seems to be propping up ok , I washed it yesterday and looked at them for wear because of the salt on the road . Seem to be ok so far 77E9969E-014F-4E5A-B3B5-20953D7E7BBD.png

I did take them of to paint them
The clips mean you have to push back towards the radiator to take out . Once painted and pushed in the holes, I used a hook type tool wrapped in tissue to pull back towards me to engage the clips , bit fiddly but if I can do it 5640DB56-648D-4C1A-9295-9994F9E0A6A6.png

Car looks fantastic. Very understated but in a good way.

The clips look the same type as those on the kidney grills - Very fiddly. Might give it a go over winter.

Had a look at the tins
The primer is acrylic grey , think the acrylic helps it bond to the plastic better.
Then just gloss black… both from Halfords 87C3AB60-FCB8-4398-AA69-E7A476592133.jpeg

Hope you find it helpful
Try for a warm day , I found the damp weather dulled the paint so waited for a warmer day to maximise the gloss

[ref]Dave 2 dogs[/ref], did you literally just push the lower grills out, or do you have to push the clips down/up somehow to get them out?

I used a pallet knife on te outside edging, be careful not to scratch your body paint. Push back towards the cabin
Once you get one free use your hand to push against the grill to feel where the next clip is
